[Scene: Outside the house. Anthony, Shayla, Kai, and Shayla’s mom are laughing and enjoying family time. Suddenly, Anthony notices Amber walking toward them.]

Anthony: (freezes mid-laugh) …Hold up. Tell me I’m not seeing what I’m seeing.

Shayla’s Mom: (squints) Oh Lord… isn’t that Amber?

Shayla: (turns, annoyed) Of course it is. Why she always gotta show up when things are peaceful?

Kai: (innocent) Daddy, who’s that?

Anthony: (sighs, rubbing forehead) That’s… uh… that’s somebody from before, son. Don’t worry about it.

Amber: (smiling, walking closer) Well, well, look at this picture-perfect family moment. Y’all out here looking like a magazine cover.

Shayla: (tight tone) What do you want, Amber?

Amber: Relax, Shayla. I didn’t come here to fight. (pauses, eyes on Anthony) I just came to talk.

Anthony: (stern) Talk about what, Amber? You see me here with my family. This ain’t the time.

Amber: (smirks) Funny… I thought family meant honesty. And I got some things I need to say.

Shayla’s Mom: (steps up, protective) Amber, whatever you came here for, you better say it quick. These kids don’t need no drama.

Amber: (nods) Fair enough. Look, Anthony… I heard Shayla’s been working with Wayne. That true?

Shayla: (snaps) And what if it is? That’s none of your business.

Amber: (raises brow) Oh, but it is my business. You know Wayne doesn’t keep things simple. Every time he’s around, mess follows. I’m just saying—you might think it’s work, but we all know Wayne don’t mix business without… extras.

Anthony: (clenches jaw) Amber, don’t do this. Not in front of my son.

Amber: (voice softens) Look, I didn’t come here to tear y’all apart. Honestly… I came to apologize too. I messed up before. I was angry, controlling, and I crossed lines I shouldn’t have. But—(looks at Shayla)—don’t think for one second I won’t call things how I see ‘em.

Shayla: (folds arms) So what is this? You apologizing, or you stirring the pot?

Amber: (smiles slyly) Maybe both. Depends on how y’all handle it.

Shayla’s Mom: (firmly) Amber, let me make something real clear. Shayla and Anthony are building something solid. If you came here for peace, fine. But if you came here to dig up old mess, you better turn around right now.

Kai: (tugging Anthony’s hand) Daddy, why is she mad?

Anthony: (kneels down, calming his son) She’s not mad, buddy. She’s just… confused. Don’t worry, daddy’s got it.

Amber: (pauses, softer) Kai’s lucky. He’s got a strong dad. (looks back at Anthony) You always were a superhero to him. Just… make sure you don’t let anyone take that away.

Shayla: (cutting in) He won’t. And he doesn’t need you here to remind him.

Amber: (half-smile, backing away) We’ll see. Y’all have a nice evening.
