Anthony STUNNED After Shayla Says Kai Can Stay Around Amber! 😮
[Scene: Anthony’s living room. He’s chilling on the couch when Shayla knocks on the door. Anthony opens it, looking curious.]
Anthony: Shayla? What’s up? You don’t usually just pop up like this.
Shayla: Yeah… I needed to talk to you about Kai.
Anthony: (sits up straighter) Something wrong? He okay?
Shayla: He’s fine. This is more about… custody.
Anthony: (confused) Custody? Shayla, what’s going on? You know I always wanna be there for Kai.
Shayla: I know. That’s why I came. Listen… I can’t always depend on my mom. She’s tired, Zachary acts funny about babysitting… I need to start living my life a little too.
Anthony: (nodding slowly) Okay, I hear you. So what are you saying?
Shayla: (deep breath) I’m saying… you can have Kai sometimes. Even if… Amber’s around.
Anthony: (eyes widen, stunned) Hold up. What? Did I just hear you say Amber? My Amber?
Shayla: (hesitant) Yeah.
Anthony: (leans forward) Shayla, are you serious? You been telling me for months that you don’t trust her. You said she barged into your house, you said she hated Kai… now you telling me I can leave him with her?
Shayla: (defensive) Don’t twist my words, Anthony. I still don’t like the idea. But I can’t live glued to my son every single second. I gotta at least try to trust that you’ll protect him.
Anthony: (rubbing his face) Man, this is wild. I mean… you’re dropping this on me like it’s nothing. Do you know what you’re asking? You think Amber gon’ just smile and bake cookies with Kai? That’s a stretch.
Shayla: (firmly) That’s why I’m telling you. It’s on you to make sure Kai’s safe. If I find out otherwise, Anthony, I swear—
Anthony: (cuts her off) Whoa, whoa. Don’t come in here threatening me. I’m his father. I’d never let anybody hurt him. Not Amber, not nobody.
Shayla: (softer) I just… I don’t want him feeling unwanted in her house. Kids pick up on that stuff.
Anthony: (sighs) Look, Amber ain’t perfect. But you don’t know her heart like I do. She’s angry at us, yeah, but that don’t mean she’ll take it out on Kai.
Shayla: (crosses arms) She literally said she doesn’t care about him, Anthony.
Anthony: (pauses, frustrated) And you believed her? Shayla, you know how people talk when they hurt. She don’t hate that boy. She just hates what he represents. There’s a difference.
Shayla: (quiet) That’s the part that scares me.
Anthony: (softens) I get it. But you gotta trust me. I’ll never let him feel unsafe. Ever.
Shayla: (after a long pause) Okay… but I’m warning you—one wrong move, one bad story from Kai, and this deal is off.
Anthony: (half-smiles, shaking his head) Girl, you got me stunned right now. But alright. I’ll prove to you Amber ain’t the monster you think she is.
Shayla: (turns to leave, mutters) We’ll see.
[Scene fades with Anthony staring after her, still in shock.]
