Anthony MELTS Amber’s Heart: You’re Going to Be an Amazing Stepmom! 😍
[Scene: By the pool. Kai is splashing water with his hands while Amber watches. Anthony walks out with a towel draped around his neck.]
Amber: (laughing) Froggy. It was a frog in the water! What did froggy say, Kai?
Kai: (clapping) Ribbit! Ribbit!
Anthony: (grinning) Look at you two. What are my special people doing out here?
Amber: Just watching Froggy make a splash. Say hi to your daddy, Kai.
Kai: (reaches out) Daddy!
Anthony: (picks him up) That’s my big boy! Look at you. You know, babe, I’ve been thinking… we need to get him swimming lessons soon.
Amber: (nodding) Mhm. I was thinking the same. I don’t want him around this pool not knowing how to swim.
Anthony: Exactly. Too many stories of little kids falling in. We can’t risk that. He needs to be prepared.
Amber: (squeezes Kai’s hand) See, your daddy is already planning your future.
Anthony: (smiling at Amber) Nah… we’re planning his future. You amaze me, Amber.
Amber: (blinks, caught off guard) What you mean?
Anthony: I mean… look at you. Here you are, talking about swimming lessons, snacks, routines… you never cease to amaze me.
Amber: (smiles softly) Don’t do that, Anthony. You gon’ make me blush.
Kai: (wiggles) Mama!
Amber: (freezes, eyes wide) …Did he just—?
Anthony: (laughs) Oh snap, did you hear that? He called you Mama.
Amber: (teary-eyed) Don’t play with me, Anthony.
Anthony: (serious now, looking her in the eyes) I’m not playing. You’ve been amazing with him. Honestly, Amber… you make an amazing stepmother.
Amber: (covers mouth, emotional) …Anthony.
Anthony: (gently sets Kai down) No, listen. I know this hasn’t been easy for you. I know what it means to stand by me while I co-parent with Shayla. But through it all, you’ve shown love, patience, and care. Kai loves you. And so do I.
Amber: (wipes a tear) You don’t know how much that means to me. Sometimes I feel like I’m just… stepping into a world that was already built, you know?
Anthony: (takes her hands) And you made that world better. Baby, you turned this blended family into something real. I can’t thank you enough.
Amber: (smiles through tears) Thank you for saying that. I needed to hear it.
Kai: (giggles, toddling toward Amber) Mama, mama!
Amber: (picks him up, kisses his cheek) Okay, little man. You just sealed the deal.
Anthony: (laughs, pulling them both close) My family right here. Thank you, God.
Amber: (grinning now) So, what’s next? Swimming lessons? Baby gates? Baby-proofing?
Anthony: (playful) All of it. And maybe… another little one down the road?
Amber: (laughs, swats his arm) Boy, don’t start! Let’s just get this one walking straight first.
Anthony: (chuckling, kissing her forehead) Step by step. Just like us.
