Amber Confesses to Anthony: Kai Don’t Even Look Like You!🔥
[Scene: Anthony is holding Kai in the living room while Amber paces back and forth, clearly struggling with something on her mind.]
Anthony:
(laughing softly, rocking Kai)
Man, look at this little dude. He’s got my whole swag already. You my boy, huh?
Amber:
(stops pacing, arms crossed, her voice low but shaky)
Anthony… stop saying that like you so sure.
Anthony:
(confused, glancing up)
What you mean? Sure about what? Look at him—he’s a mini-me. Same little grin, same attitude already.
Amber:
(voice cracks, trying not to cry)
No, Anthony… he don’t look like you.
Anthony:
(freezes, staring at her, his smile drops)
What? Amber… what you talking about right now?
Amber:
(tears welling up, speaking faster)
I’ve been trying to ignore it. I’ve been trying to convince myself it don’t matter. But every time I look at Kai, I don’t see you in him. Not your eyes, not your face, not nothing.
Anthony:
(stands up, still holding Kai protectively)
Hold up. You standing here telling me my son don’t look like me? You know how crazy that sounds?
Amber:
(pacing again, frustrated)
I’m not trying to be crazy, Anthony. I’m being real. I don’t feel it. Something in my spirit keeps saying—what if he ain’t yours?
Anthony:
(angry, but holding it back for Kai’s sake)
Amber, do you hear yourself? You gonna stand in front of me and basically say I ain’t this boy’s father? After all I done for you, for him?
Amber:
(voice rising, tears falling)
It’s not about what you’ve done! I see the way people look, Anthony. I hear the whispers. Even I—I can’t unsee it. Every day it eats at me more.
Anthony:
(snarls, hurt but determined)
So what you want, huh? A test? Some paperwork to prove what I already know? You think a piece of paper gonna tell me more than my heart does?
Amber:
(softly, collapsing onto the couch)
I just… I just want the truth. I need to know. For him. For us.
Anthony:
(looking at Kai, his voice breaking)
The truth? The truth is—this little boy calls me daddy. That’s my truth. I don’t care what you or anybody else got to say. But Amber… if you doubting me like this? You doubting us.
Amber:
(whispers, broken)
I’m scared, Anthony. What if I ruined everything?
Anthony:
(staring at her, his jaw tight, his eyes wet)
Then you better pray you didn’t. ‘Cause once words like this come out… ain’t no taking ‘em back.
[Tension thickens. Anthony walks away with Kai in his arms, leaving Amber trembling on the couch, knowing she just lit a fire that can’t be put out.]
