Amber Breaks Down Over Kai: I Couldn’t Give You a Baby… I Lost Ours 😭
[Scene opens with Amber sitting on the couch, holding Kai’s toy in her hands, staring off quietly. Anthony walks in and notices her distant look.]
Anthony: (softly) Hey… you good?
Amber: (forcing a smile) Yeah, I’m fine. Just… just watching Kai play. He’s so full of life.
Anthony: (sits beside her) You sure? ’Cause the way you’re looking at him right now… that ain’t just admiration. That’s something else.
Amber: (sighs, eyes watering) He’s perfect, Anthony. So sweet, so innocent. And I just… (pauses) I can’t stop thinking about how I could never give you that.
Anthony: (taken aback) Amber—
Amber: (cuts him off, voice breaking) No, listen! I couldn’t give you a baby… and the one we did have, I couldn’t even keep. (covers her face with her hands)
Anthony: (pulls her hands down gently) Hey, no. Don’t do that to yourself. Don’t you dare.
Amber: (crying) What’s wrong with me? Why did God take that chance away from me? From us?
Anthony: (firm but loving) Baby, look at me. Nothing is wrong with you. You hear me? Nothing. God didn’t make a mistake with you. He gave me you. And that’s more than enough.
Amber: (shakes head) No, it’s not enough. You deserve a family. You deserve more than just me…
Anthony: (grabs her face, looking in her eyes) Stop. Don’t you ever say that again. You are my family. You, right here. You’ve given me everything I didn’t even know I needed. You think I thank God every day for Kai? Yeah, I do. But I thank Him twice as much for giving me you.
Amber: (whispers) I miss my baby…
Anthony: (voice cracks, holding her tighter) I know, baby. I miss them too. Every single day. But we can’t let that break us. That love, that loss—it’s part of our story. And I swear to you, it don’t make me love you any less.
Amber: (sobbing into his chest) I just wanted to give you something beautiful…
Anthony: (stroking her hair) You already did. You gave me your love, your prayers, your strength. That’s what carried us here. That’s what makes us beautiful.
Amber: (sniffles) You really mean that?
Anthony: (kisses her forehead) With everything in me. Baby, God doesn’t make mistakes. And He sure didn’t make one when He brought you into my life.
Amber: (takes a deep breath, finally leaning into his arms) I’m trying…
Anthony: And I’ll be right here, every step. We’ll get through it together.
