You’re Too Toxic, Mike! I’m Taking Our Baby to Texas… To My Father! 💔
[Scene: Sunny’s apartment. She’s pacing, holding her stomach while Mike walks in looking tense.]
Mike: Hey. You called me over. What’s going on?
Sunny: Yeah, I needed to say this face to face. I can’t keep doing this over the phone.
Mike: Good. Because over the phone, you were talking wild. This whole “water birth” thing? That ain’t happening with my child.
Sunny: [crosses arms] Mike, you can’t tell me what to do with my own body.
Mike: You asked me to research, and I did. And guess what? It’s risky. We’re going to the hospital. End of discussion.
Sunny: [sarcastic] Oh, so now you’re a doctor? Since when?
Mike: I don’t need to be a doctor to know putting my child in some pool in your living room is crazy.
Sunny: First of all, lower your voice.
Mike: I’m not yelling—
Sunny: [cutting him off] You’re yelling, Mike. And you don’t even hear yourself.
Mike: I’m just passionate because you don’t make sense!
Sunny: No, what doesn’t make sense is you thinking you can control me. You’ve been controlling since day one.
Mike: Control? No, Sunny, I’m trying to protect my baby. Is that toxic to you?
Sunny: [takes a deep breath] What’s toxic is this… us. The arguing. The disrespect. Every time we talk, it turns into a fight.
Mike: [pauses, softer] Sunny… come on. It’s just a disagreement. That doesn’t mean we’re toxic.
Sunny: [shaking her head] No, Mike. Everything about us feels toxic. And I can’t bring a baby into this.
Mike: [steps closer] So what are you saying?
Sunny: I’m saying… I’m moving to Texas.
Mike: [stunned] What?
Sunny: To my father’s. I have family there. I have support. I have peace—something I don’t have here with you.
Mike: [throws hands up] Texas? You’re running because your daddy said so? That’s crazy, Sunny!
Sunny: It’s not crazy—it’s safe. It’s stable. And my baby deserves that.
Mike: So you’re just gonna take my child away from me?
Sunny: I’m not keeping the baby from you, Mike. But here? With you coming and going, making promises you don’t keep? That’s not stability.
Mike: [pleading] I’ll get you a place here. I’ll step up. I’ll prove it to you.
Sunny: It’s not about the place, Mike. It’s about peace. And I don’t have that with you.
Mike: [voice cracks] Sunny, please. Don’t do this.
Sunny: [teary-eyed, but firm] Mike… you’re too toxic. I’m taking our baby to Texas. To my father.
Mike: [stunned silence, fists clenched, fighting back tears] …So that’s it?
Sunny: That’s it. Please, just go.
Mike: [softly] You’re making the biggest mistake of your life.
Sunny: [turns away] No, Mike. The biggest mistake would be raising this baby in all this chaos.
[Mike stands frozen, then storms out. Sunny holds her stomach, whispering to herself.]
Sunny: It’s for you, baby. For your peace.
