Get Out of My Face, Anthony! You’re a Liar, You’re Evil, and I Don’t Have to Face Anything! 😡

[Scene: Shayla’s living room – afternoon. The blinds are drawn, and the air feels heavy. Kai is asleep in the next room. Anthony stands near the door, looking hesitant. Shayla is standing in the middle of the room, arms folded, eyes blazing.]

Anthony: (softly) Hey.

Shayla: Hey.

Anthony: Kai sleep?

Shayla: Yeah, he’s sleep. But you wouldn’t know… you’re never here. I guess you don’t even know his nap schedule anymore.

Anthony: Shayla, don’t start—

Shayla: (cuts in) Oh, I’m starting. Because you don’t get to walk in here like everything’s fine.

Anthony: I’m sorry if I hurt you in any way.

Shayla: (laughs bitterly) What does that even mean to me, Anthony?

Anthony: It means… we have to face reality.

Shayla: Face reality? (steps closer, voice shaking) You are so selfish. It’s easy for you to “face reality.” You’re the only winner here. You get to go home to your wife, your house, your perfect life… and you leave me and your son in a nightmare.

Anthony: This is the reality, Shayla. The sooner you face it, the smoother things can go.

Shayla: How am I supposed to face reality when you convinced me you loved me? You told me you wanted a family… and then you walked out on me like I was nothing. You left me with our son, and went crawling back to Amber.

Anthony: I’m telling you to face reality because that is reality. How long did you think this was going to go on?

Shayla: Don’t touch me! (pulls back sharply) You’re a liar. How do you look me in my face and say I’m the love of your life, then do this to me? To our son?

Anthony: I never wanted to hurt you—

Shayla: Hurt me? You destroyed me. I can see why you’re so good in business — because you’re cold. You do whatever serves you. And I don’t have to face anything! What I need is for you to get out of my face.

Anthony: So you think I’m not hurting?

Shayla: (glares) Oh, now you’re the victim? You want pity? Did you care about how Amber felt when you were here with me?

Anthony: She was your best friend, Shayla…

Shayla: Exactly! The same best friend you went running back to. That’s on you.

Anthony: You’re twisting this—

Shayla: No, I’m telling the truth. You’re evil, Anthony. You’re a liar. And I don’t have to face anything. Now… get out.

Anthony: Shayla—

Shayla: (points to the door) Out. Before I forget my son’s asleep and start yelling.

[Anthony hesitates for a second, then walks out. Shayla stands there, breathing hard, wiping at angry tears.]
