You Didn’t Even TRY to Protect Me! — What Amber Said Next Left Anthony Frozen! 😲
[INT. AMBER'S DOORSTEP – EVENING]
Anthony stands outside Amber’s house, nervously shifting his weight. His car engine is still running. Amber opens the door halfway — eyes full of fire and pain.
Amber: Uh uh. Hell no. No. Get in your car. Get in your car and go.
Anthony: Amber, please, I just wanna talk—
Amber: No. I don’t want to hear anything you have to say. Go back to your baby mama.
Anthony: But just let me explain—Shayla—
Amber: I don’t care! I don’t care if she was gonna come, if you told her, or if she just popped up from the sky. Do you understand me? I’m sick of this negativity, Anthony. I’m sick of the toxicity that's oozing from you. Oozing from this mess you’ve dragged into my life.
Anthony: Just five minutes, please. Let’s talk. That’s all I’m asking—
Amber: Talk about what? The fact that you’re the devil in disguise? That I was doing fine before you came back around?
Anthony: Amber, come on—
Amber: Don’t “come on” me, Anthony. You keep playing with my emotions like they’re disposable. Like I’m disposable.
Anthony: I never meant to hurt you. I didn’t even tell Shayla to come here!
Amber: And I don’t care! I don’t care if she walked here barefoot, backwards, and blindfolded. I’m sick of her and I’m sick of you.
Anthony: Amber, I love you. I’ve been trying to fix this—
Amber: Fix it? Haven’t you broken my heart enough? And instead of putting it back together, you’re smashing the pieces into dust.
Anthony: Please… don’t say that.
Amber: No. You wanna know what really broke me?
Anthony: Amber…
Amber: You didn’t even try to protect me. You didn’t even care enough to think about what that night would cost. Not to you — but to me.
Anthony: That’s not true.
Amber: Isn’t it? If I was really enough for you, you would’ve never… never let it go that far. You would’ve at least—
(She stops herself, swallowing emotion. Tears threaten to spill.)
Amber: You wouldn’t have left me open to this pain. And now I have to sit here wondering if any of this was real, or if I was just some comfort zone between your chaos.
(Anthony reaches out to touch her arm, but she pulls away fast.)
Amber: Don’t touch me. Get in your car. And go.
Anthony: I made a mistake, Amber. But I love you.
Amber: Love? You don’t love me. You love the way I make you feel. But when it mattered most, when I needed your loyalty, your protection—you vanished.
(She closes the door halfway, voice trembling.)
Amber: You didn’t even try to protect me. And that says everything.
(The door slams. Anthony stands frozen on the porch, lips parted, regret written all over his face. The engine hums in the background. He doesn’t move.)
