BBQ SHUT DOWN?! — Ernestine & Tre’s Wild Chicken Coop Hookup Gets BUSTED in Front of Everybody!π±
The BBQ Was Lit… Until It Wasn’t.
The smell of jerk chicken, ribs, and mango-glazed wings was thick in the humid Jamaican air as Chase’s family BBQ roared to life. Kids were running around with snow cones, uncles were arguing about dominoes, and Candace was filming a reel of the food table—trying to act like she didn’t care that Shayla and Anthony were here.
But while the BBQ was popping out front, something else was popping off in the back.
And it smelled like trouble and feathers.
Tre Slips Away…
Tre was supposed to be charming his date, Simone, but he kept glancing across the yard at Ernestine, who was wearing cutoff shorts, gold bamboo earrings, and that reckless smile she always gave when she was about to do something messy.
Ernestine dipped into the house to “get more ice.” Tre’s eyes followed her.
Simone turned, “You want a drink, baby?”
Tre cleared his throat, “Uh, yeah, be right back.”
And that was the last anyone saw of them for a good twenty minutes.
Chase Gets Suspicious
Meanwhile, Chase was trying to keep the peace. Shayla and Anthony were sitting at a table trying not to look at Amber, who was flipping burgers while side-eyeing Anthony so hard the lettuce was wilting.
Candace leaned over to Chase, “You didn’t tell me they were coming.”
“Babe, we needed to squash the drama, it’s just food.”
“You could’ve warned me.” She rolled her eyes, cutting them toward Shayla.
Chase sighed, “Man, where’s Tre? He was supposed to help me with the coolers.”
Candace looked around, “Where’s Ernestine? I swear I saw them—”
They locked eyes.
“Oh, HELL no.”
Amber Sees Red
Amber, already on edge, saw Candace storming off toward the back fence.
“Where you going?” Amber asked.
Candace snapped, “To get these clowns before they embarrass everybody.”
Amber narrowed her eyes, “What they doing?”
“Check the chicken coop.”
Amber’s jaw dropped, “You lying.”
Chase jogged after Candace, “Babe, just let it be, they grown!”
Candace snapped, “Not in my mama’s backyard they’re not!”
The Chicken Coop ‘Hookup’
Ernestine and Tre were behind the coop, pressed up against the old wood, giggling, feathers floating in the air as Tre kissed her neck.
“Yo, you sure no one gon’ come back here?” Ernestine whispered.
Tre smirked, “They too busy worrying about Anthony and Shayla to care.”
Ernestine giggled again, pulling him closer. A chicken squawked somewhere behind them.
“Shh, shut up, chicken!” Ernestine whispered, laughing.
Tre lifted her up for a second—until they heard a scream.
“I KNOW Y’ALL NOT BACK HERE!”
Candace’s voice cut through the humid air like a slap.
Tre nearly dropped Ernestine, feathers flying everywhere, as Chase pulled back a makeshift curtain of palm fronds.
“Bruh, what the hell? In the CHICKEN COOP?!”
Ernestine wiped her mouth, “Mind your business, Chase.”
Candace stepped forward, “IN MY MAMA’S YARD? With feathers and everything? You NASTY!”
Tre pulled up his pants, “Y’all trippin’, man.”
The BBQ Stops.
Word travels fast at a family BBQ.
The music stopped. A domino slammed on the table. A kid dropped a snow cone.
Amber came around the corner, phone out, “I know y’all not back here embarrassing us for FREE.”
Anthony peeked over, saw Tre and Ernestine fixing themselves, and burst out laughing.
Shayla shook her head, “Mmm-mmm, couldn’t be me.”
Simone, Tre’s date, came up last, blinking. “TRE? TRE?!”
Tre stuttered, “Simone, I can explain—”
She slapped the plate of BBQ she was holding straight into his chest.
“EXPLAIN THAT!”
Candace vs. Ernestine
Candace wasn’t done.
“Oh, so you sneaking off with Tre while his girl out here? You think that’s cute?”
Ernestine folded her arms, “Better than you not telling Candace you invited Shayla and Anthony, Chase!”
Candace whipped around at Chase, “WAIT, YOU DID WHAT?!”
Chase blinked, “It wasn’t that serious—”
“YOU LIED TO ME?!”
The BBQ was now officially dead. Aunties were peeking from the patio, uncles were pulling out their phones, and the DJ didn’t even bother to restart the music.
Tre’s Weak Apology
Tre, covered in BBQ sauce and feathers, tried to grab Simone’s hand.
“Bae, listen, it was just a moment, I was drunk—”
Simone snatched her hand back, “Drunk off WHAT, Tre? Chicken feathers?!”
Ernestine scoffed, “You mad at me, but your man followed me.”
Candace snapped, “GIRL, SHUT UP.”
Ernestine Stands Her Ground
Ernestine wiped a feather from her hair, adjusted her shorts, and faced the entire BBQ like she was unfazed.
“Y’all acting like I committed a crime. We grown. We had a moment.”
Candace glared, “A moment in my mama’s chicken coop?”
Ernestine grinned, “Should’ve locked it.”
Tre cracked a smile despite himself.
Candace lunged, “OH, YOU THINK THIS A JOKE?!”
Chase grabbed Candace, “Babe, please, it ain’t worth it!”
The Aftermath
Ernestine and Tre got kicked out.
Simone left, cussing Tre out while throwing his phone at him.
Chase spent the next hour begging Candace for forgiveness for not telling her about Anthony and Shayla, while Candace muttered about “snakes in the grass” and “dirty chicken coops.”
Amber went live on Instagram, telling her followers, “Y’all, I can’t even eat my ribs in peace. They out here hooking up in the coop like the actual chickens.”
The BBQ was officially done.
